Are your products download only?
Yes. When you complete the transaction you will be sent secure, encrypted links from our partners at FastSpring. You will also receive via e-mail any serial number information, which is sent automatically to the e-mail you provide at FastSpring. If you didn’t receive these e-mails, be sure to check your junk mail folder. All this information (Customer Name, Email, Customer/Download IP address, Serial Number, etc…) is stored in our logs. So if your download expires and you need your links reset, just let us know! We recommend saving all e-mails from FastSpring, as it will contain Order Numbers or Serial Numbers you will need for updates.
Can I purchase a physical copy?
We unfortunately had to discontinue our backup DVD option, after finding out about some errors with our backup DVD ordering system. We are currently in the process of trying to set up a backup drive option with FastSpring, but as this may take some time, we highly recommend you use our new downloader; our downloader does an excellent job in preventing incomplete downloads, which often results in 'wrong checksum' and 'unexpected end of archive' errors. You can also send us your own drive for the backup files, or even visit us here at Cinesamples to copy the files on to your drive. Please contact support@cinesamples.com for more information.
Do I need to own the full version of Kontakt?
Depends on what you purchased. Anything from our CineSymphony series as well as VOXOS, Rio Grooves!, Abbey Road Classic Upright Pianos and our Artist Series line of products use the free Kontakt Player from NI and do not require you to purchase any sampler software. For the others, check the product page for details on the full version of Kontakt it requires.

Why am I being charged tax?

Can I add the library to the Kontakt Library browser window?
Anything from our CineSymphony series as well as VOXOS, Rio Grooves!, Abbey Road Classic Upright Pianos and our Artist Series line of products can be added in the “Libraries” tab. Those libraries are licensed for the free NI Kontakt Player. Just click the “Add Library” button and select the folder. All other Cinesamples libraries you have to navigate via the “Files” tab.
When I load an instrument it says ***DEMO*** — what’s up with that?
You are trying to load up a non-encoded instrument into the free Kontakt Player. You need the full version of Kontakt to use many of our libraries — all except CineBrass, Hollywoodwinds, and VOXOS. The full version of Kontakt will say “Kontakt” at the top, and the free version will show “Kontakt Player.” If the instrument loads in Demo mode, but you have the full version of Kontakt, you need to activate Kontakt in Service Center.
I am having an error extracting the remaining parts of the RAR archives?

Our libraries are often shipped in multiple bits called “RAR” files, which aides the download process. Once the library is downloaded, you just extract “Part 1″ by double clicking that file, and the remaining parts will be automatically extracted. YOU DO NOT NEED TO EXTRACT THE REMAINING PARTS, OR YOU WILL CREATE DUPLICATE FOLDERS AND CAUSE CONFUSION. The excellent Mac software we used to compress the archive is RarMachine, which we recommend (or UnRarX) for extracting on a Mac. Good alternatives for PC users are WinZip or WinRar. If you get an error during this process, check your .RAR sizes; they may have been incompletely downloaded.
Why am I getting errors during extraction?

The most common reason why errors show up during extraction is due to incomplete downloads. BEFORE running the extractor, check all the file sizes with the installation instructions for the product. If a file size does not match, it likely is incomplete and will need to be re-downloaded. You do NOT have to re-download any complete files. Also, please do not use StuffIt for extraction.
Kontakt keeps asking me where to find the audio files, what do I do?
Kontakt keeps track of the specific locations where your Kontakt patches and linked audio files for these patches are located. If you move these files, say, while re-organzing your hard drive, Kontakt may present you an error message asking to “Please Locate the Audio Files.” You can use Kontakt’s “batch re-save” function to quickly and easily remedy this problem if you are happy where everything is located and you just want the patches to load. If you move the complete sample library folder, with internal hierarchy preserved, you will not receive this message (unless you have customized the patches). For any products with installers the location information will be entered into the patches at the time of installation (following a prompt from the installer application allowing you to customize the location).
Kontakt displays an error message — “the patch could not be loaded (unknown error)” — what do I do?
This error in an indication that your version of Kontakt is not up to date. Please go to Native Instruments Service Center and update to the latest software.
Are your libraries compatible with Kontakt 5?
All of our libraries have been tested up to the latest version of Kontakt 4. We are still in the process of migrating and updating to Kontakt 5, but if you are a Kontakt 5 user you should be able to use most of our products without worry -– if you run into a problem contact support and we can usually provide a solution.
I want to put my libraries onto a new computer — do I need new download links?
Per the license agreement, one user can install the libraries on up to two machines. If you have a second or a new computer, you can simply move the files from your hard drive to your new computer’s drive — there is no need to re-download the products if you have all the files. If you experience a hard drive crash, we are happy to send you new download links for your libraries.

What sequencers do you guys use? What computers do you compose on?
Both Mikes use a Mac Pro (2 x 2.8 gHz Quad Core Intel Xeon) with 16GB of RAM and MOTU audio hardware. Barry uses an additional Mac Pro (12 Core) to host samples. Patti uses MOTU Digital Performer to sequence and Barry uses Apple Logic. We have other computers that for now are “retired” and just sitting on the shelves.
What libraries are you using in the demos? Can you offer me composing help?
As composer-developers we try and keep up with the current scene of samples (aside from that we also love samples), so we pretty much own just about every sample library (a slight exaggeration, but you get the idea). Due to the high volume of “Can you offer me composing help?” it is impossible to respond to every email sent in this regard. Feel free to browse our video sections and our private websites for more information in this regard.
